The primary objective of the family class immigration is “to see that families are reunited in Canada”, that allows the Canadian citizen or permanent residents to sponsor a member of their family under family class definition based on their relationship as the spouse, common-law partner, child, adopted child, parent and grandparents, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, under 18 and orphaned children and any relative if the sponsor is along in Canada and has none of the family members to sponsor. Eligibility criteria for sponsoring the above members are as follows:
- Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident
- At least 18 years old
- Reside in Canada (with some exceptions)
- File an application to sponsor a member of the family class
- Provide and undertaking and meet the LICO requirements
