Many universities and colleges have created an extra layer of chaos for many international would-be overseas students as they have issued vaccine mandates to live or study on campus.
McMaster University, University of Toronto and Western University in London are amongst the post-secondary institutions to have at least one dose of WHO authorized vaccine to move into the residence for international and domestic students.
The universities say they’ll give residents a grace time to comply with the requirements, and help young immigrants get their shots in Canada.
The four schools say they accept the WHO list of vaccines approved for emergency use including formulations by Chinese companies Sinovac Biotech and Sinopharm in addition to the Health Canada-authorized Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson products.
