
International students contribute over $21 billion annually to the Canadian economy and support the vitality of our communities. Yet the COVID 19 has presented myriad challenges for international students. Most notably, for many PGWP holders, the disruption and ambiguity of the pandemic have jeopardized their possibilities of gaining the work experience required to apply for permanent residence.
Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of IRCC, announced that former international students who hold or held a PGWP can apply for another open work permit as part of the Canadians Government’s efforts to support them during this challenging time.
