Google plans to open three new offices in Canada

Google opened its first office in Toronto 19 years ago and plans to expand its footprint in Canada by opening 3 new offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Waterloo by 2022 which would accommodate as many as 5000 employees, the company announced Thursday.

Npower, a charitable organization supporting digital skill training for young adults will be granted $2.5-million by Google. Google, Canada vice President Sabrina Geremia said in a release that they are excited to partner with NPower Canada of supporting successful digital careers in IT and meeting the Canadian employees ongoing demands.

For high tech potential tech startups, it will be launching its 1st accelerator program in Canada based in waterloo, Ontario and would be Google’s 12th accelerator globally.

The report from consultancy firm Public First found Google’s search and advertising products generate up to $23 billion in annual economic activity for more than 500,000 businesses in the country last year and a new report revealed to boost the country economy to further invest in Canada.
