Students from India paid thousands to Quebec colleges. Now they want refund.

Indian students await their reimbursement of their parents hard-earned money paid to colleges at Quebec towards the admission of fees at the colleges as their study permits have been disapproved by the federal government. There are 120 Indian students who are a part of WhatsApp group sharing similar woes of disappointment.

10 colleges were temporarily barred from accepting certain foreign student applications which put hold on Quebec Acceptance Certificate , a document international student need to obtain the study permit , later on issued by Ottawa. M and CDE colleges were barred from processing the foreign student applications. The investigation report revealed shortcoming in terms of recruitment commercial practices, Governance and teaching conditions. The no of Indian Students has skyrocketed tremendously. Students awaiting the refund of their money are in return penalized with $ 4000 for the immigration services provided by Rising Phoenix Immigration Services, which is also based in Montreal.

These students have not availed Online classess too. Mastantuono who operates the M college also runs another private schools in Sherbroke. He has declined a request for interview and hasn’t responded to query about refund, delays to Indian Students at M and CDE college which remains closed with effect from Nov 30 to Jan 10 2022.
